The world we live in today is more connected to the digital world than ever before, and it is only becoming more so. The ongoing explosion in the volume and variety of identity data represents one of the greatest potential opportunities to assess an individual’s core identity and pattern of life. Most of us walk around with the equivalent of a supercomputer in our pocket, which monitors almost every aspect of our lives. We shop online, we bank online, we date and socialize online. Our digital DNA can almost tell us more about who we are and what we do than our biological DNA. Understanding the possibilities and limitations of what this digital information means is what Digital Forensics is all about.
